Miraz Musik: Press

Hidden Soundtracks of the Found Mind gives world music a new dimension. Artists in this album have not limited their experiences in using exotic ancient Persia musical instruments, but they have tries to get to new realm in world music and have succeeded. The Miraz and Sara musical creations have the poetry of the eastern philosophy inside every song. I recommend the Hidden Soundtracks of the Found Mind to all the world music lovers.
I had the pleasure of seeing Miraz perform late last year and it was enthralling. He told me later he was working on some other projects that were different from what I heard that evening. He keeps his promises. This CD is very original. I have many world/electronic CDs but none such as this. It is electronic based but it always feels live and on the ground, deep in the earth. It has no real gimmicks and is very sparse in it's arrangments without being boring. "Setar Dream" makes me feel like I'm listening to some some old "ethnic out in the field" recording. You can actually hear the room, maybe somewhere in some adobe hut in a desert on a full moon. Miraz's partner in this venture, Sara is credited with the vocals, setar, 2 headed flute!? and synthesizer. She has a very original voice that can be somewhat childlike in a adult fashion. It's off kilterd but in a very haunting, unforgettable way. The introduction of her setar is also great. "Mountain Flute Song" Really does sound like a procession on some mountain in Tibet,Africa or India. Both versions of "you should play" I always play over and over again. In fact this CD has not left my carousel for the last few weeks and plays on a regular basis. It will chill you out without knocking you, because you would want to hear every detail that is coming up next. Miraz's production's always seem as I said beforehand live and fill your listening space. It sounds good low,Loud or with headphones, specially headphones. Pick it up and keep your ear to the ground. Miraz Should have more up his sleeves.
Hidden Soundtracks is so mellow, soothing and unobtrusive that the day's stress vanishes. It is like a full body massage of the soul.
Incredible music.
I caught wind of these guys while at a expo last summer near San Francisco. From just two people there was a wall of sound. Miraz on keyboards, laptop and some weird mouth controller. Paradiso on didg, theremin, percussion and God knows what else. Their music really tells you a story. Based from what Miraz said onstage of his experiences in Berlin. If it can inspire anyone to do stuff like this I myself should head there, me being a novice musician.
"A rarely achieved perfection in serenity."
"The Music of RESONANCE takes on visual qualities and otherworldly realms with a grace and ease that is easy to be with, and can be revisited often."
